Musica Lirica
Music School

Music is a journey, not just an activity.

To make real progress, regular lessons and consistent practice over time are essential.

Music education flourishes with continuity and a long-term perspective.

For this reason, stability is especially important, and frequent changes of schedule may hinder a student’s development.

Our policies are therefore designed to create a supportive and consistent learning environment for all, even if they may differ slightly from other activities.

Payment Terms and Policies

1. Payment Schedule

  • Payments are in line with the Oslo International School (OIS) 3-season calendar.

  • All payments must be made at the beginning of each season.

  • Each season consists of approximately 11–12 weeks, followed by a one-week break.

2. Lesson Length and Fees

  • Lesson fees are calculated on a per–half-hour basis.

  • Longer lessons (45 or 60 minutes) are available and charged proportionally.

  • Please refer to the Tuition Fees page for detailed information on fees by level and lesson length.

3. Non-Refundable Policy

  • As a rule, lessons missed due to student circumstances (e.g. travel, birthdays, holidays, or minor illness) cannot be rescheduled or refunded.

  • The only exception applies to official OIS school trips (as announced by OIS). In such cases, the missed lesson may be rescheduled during the designated make-up week at the end of the season.

4. Payment Instructions

  • All payments must be made to account number 0539.53.61041.

  • Please include the correct KID number with every payment to ensure proper identification.

  • Payments are due at the beginning of each season, in line with the OIS 3-season calendar.

5. Make-Up Lessons

  • Lessons missed due to teacher unavailability will be rescheduled.

  • In cases where rescheduling is not possible, a refund or credit for the missed lesson will be offered.

  • Lessons missed due to official OIS school trips (as announced by OIS) may be rescheduled during the designated make-up week at the end of each season.

  • In the event of OIS building closures (e.g., due to COVID-19), lessons will transition to an alternative venue or online format as directed by Musica Lirica – Music School.

6. Termination of Contract

  • Enrollment is binding for the duration of each season once confirmed.

  • Parents/guardians must confirm continuation for the following season by the specified deadline; otherwise, the lesson slot may be released.

7. Late Payments

  • If payment is not received within two weeks after the payment reminder (automatically issued through the invoicing system), lessons may be suspended, and the contract may subsequently be terminated.

  • Unpaid balances may be sent to Inkasso for collection, which may incur additional fees.

8. Drop-Off and Pick-Up Policy

  • Students must be dropped off and picked up on time at the music lesson room.

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their child’s safety during both drop-off and pick-up.

  • Parents/guardians may assign a third party to handle this task, but ultimate responsibility always remains with the parents/guardians.

  • Teachers cannot be expected to supervise children outside their lesson time, as they may need to leave for other duties. Musica Lirica – Music School cannot take responsibility for children left unattended due to late pick-up.

9. Policy Updates

  • Musica Lirica – Music School reserves the right to update these terms and conditions from time to time. Parents/guardians will be notified of any significant changes.

10. Continuation of Lessons

  • At the end of each season, students wishing to continue must confirm their enrollment for the following season by the specified deadline.

  • If no confirmation is received, the lesson slot may be released and offered to other students on the waiting list.

11. General Terms

  • A signed contract between Musica Lirica – Music School and the parent/guardian is required at the time of enrollment.

  • By signing this agreement, parents/guardians acknowledge that they have read and understood the terms and conditions, and agree to comply with them.

  • Musica Lirica – Music School likewise undertakes to provide lessons in accordance with these terms.

  • In case of differing interpretations or matters not specified herein, both parties will engage in good-faith discussions to reach a fair resolution.
